Rockstar Games is still planning to launch GTA VI next year—at least for now. Fans are eagerly awaiting a third trailer, expected to drop sometime this month.
Last time GTA VI was postponed, Rockstar soothed the disappointment with a fresh trailer. With the recent delay pushing the release to November 2026, players are hopeful for a similar gesture. Yet, after last Thursday’s announcement, the studio has remained silent, possibly waiting for tempers to settle before making their next move.
It’s likely this week could bring that long-awaited third trailer. Personally, I’m hoping Rockstar delivers more than stylish teasers and cinematic glimpses. Don’t get me wrong: I’m already hooked on Lucia and Jason’s storylines, and the wide shots of Vice City have me itching to explore, but something crucial is missing.
Fans still haven’t seen any real gameplay. So far, the trailers have relied on mood and storytelling over actual mechanics. GTA V’s trailers gave us parachuting, tennis matches, and a peek at how crime unfolds in Los Santos. All of that helped set expectations and fueled excitement.
Despite plenty of leaks hinting at Vice City’s minigames and side activities, we haven’t seen anything officially. I’m not expecting major changes to driving or gunplay, but a few shots of Lucia and Jason raising havoc—or a glimpse of rumored new mechanics—would go a long way toward undoing some of that skepticism.
If Rockstar’s next trailer is just more atmospheric cutscenes and breathtaking landscapes, they’ll risk missing the mark with fans craving substance.
GTA: Online 2 Speculation
Another possibility is the trailer could tease details about the next evolution of GTA: Online. Rockstar has been quiet about its new online mode, but recent updates to the website suggest news could be on the horizon. Even a brief acknowledgment—showing that Online 2 exists and hinting at its launch window—would generate plenty of buzz.
Ultimately, GTA VI’s launch is still a year out, and communication from Rockstar is more vital than ever following the delay. There’s still hope this month brings more than cinematics—actual gameplay footage and a first look at GTA: Online 2 would satisfy hungry fans and give Rockstar a chance to restore some goodwill.
We’re watching closely for updates, and with momentum building, now’s the perfect time for Rockstar to step up and deliver.
