The anticipation for GTA 6 is undeniable. With Rockstar Games staying tight-lipped about its most awaited release in over a decade, the community has dissected every frame of the two official trailers, squeezing out every possible clue about the next chapter of the iconic crime saga.

Together, those trailers offer fewer than five minutes of footage—just enough to rekindle our love for Vice City and introduce us to the broader state of Leonida. As the countdown to the May 26, 2026 launch continues, fans now eagerly await a potential third trailer. But given the unconventional path GTA 6’s development has taken—complete with leaks, legal drama, and bizarre real-world twists—should we expect another major reveal before release at all?

At this stage, no one outside Rockstar truly knows. That uncertainty is exactly what makes the speculation so compelling. To find some perspective, we reached out to key voices within the Grand Theft Auto community for their predictions on whether a third trailer is coming—and what it might reveal if it does.

The Waiting Game

“Rockstar is known to keep us on our toes before a new game launch—you never really know what you’re going to get, or when,” says GTAKid, a long-standing staff member and moderator at GTANet.com.
“A new trailer would be very welcome as we continue the countdown. What we’ve seen so far showcases the immense detail Rockstar has poured into GTA 6, and that’s probably only scratching the surface. It’d be great to see a deeper dive into how missions work, how we interact with characters, and what other systems will keep players engaged across Vice City and the wider Leonida region.”

Beyond trailer talk, some fans have turned speculation into an art form. One corner of the community has committed itself to mapping out Vice City and Leonida using geographic clues pieced together from the smallest trailer details—a painstaking effort that’s become a subculture of its own.

Their meticulous dedication is admirable, but for many fans, including myself, the real thrill lies in seeing Rockstar finally lift the curtain and show us the world firsthand.

What Fans Want to See

Prominent community insider Tez shares that sentiment but hopes Rockstar’s next footage focuses less on the main storyline and more on the everyday life bustling within Leonida.
“I’d love to see the third trailer explore activities beyond the narrative—things like fishing, off-roading, drifting, street racing, hunting, or even horse racing,” Tez explains. “Give us a glimpse of the smaller moments—sports, bar games, scuba diving—those details that make the world feel alive.”

A Legacy of Teasing Excellence

Veteran GTA Forums moderator Spider-Vice believes more footage is inevitable before release, though he acknowledges GTA 6’s promotional cycle has been unlike anything Rockstar has done before.
“GTA 6 will likely have multiple new videos, possibly even a gameplay trailer before launch,” he says. “Historically, Rockstar’s big games, from GTA V to Red Dead Redemption 2, featured several trailers—story-focused, world-focused, and gameplay breakdowns. But with this being a new generation of GTA, Rockstar could be experimenting with how it markets the game.”

The Road Ahead

Nothing is guaranteed with Rockstar, and that unpredictability only fuels the fascination. Yet with months still to go before the highly anticipated console release, the door is wide open for another look at the neon-soaked streets of Vice City—a world that’s already stirring imaginations before players have even set foot inside it.
