Gemini 3 Pro is so good, Google had to tighten free tier limits to keep up

0

Google launched Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro last week, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. However, the surge in demand has led Google to tighten free-tier limits to manage system capacity.

Changes to Free-Tier Access

Previously, free users could send up to five prompts per day with Gemini 3 Pro and create up to three images daily with Nano Banana Pro. Recently, Google updated these limits, switching free users to “Basic access” with variable daily caps that may change frequently based on demand. Nano Banana Pro image generation has been reduced to two images per day.

Additional Capacity Constraints

NotebookLM has also experienced restrictions, temporarily limiting free users’ access to new Infographics and Slide Decks features. Pro users face stricter limits as well, reflecting Google’s response to overwhelming usage.

Subscription Recommendations

Given the popularity of these new AI tools and the imposed limits, subscribing to Google’s AI Pro Plan at $20 per month is advisable for enthusiasts who want unfettered access. This plan offers ample usage and priority access to the latest models and features.
