Battlefield 6 Players are Using the Repair Tool to Beg for Revives, But Medics Say Saving Downed Players Isn’t as Easy as It Looks

Medics in Battlefield 6 aren’t just fighting the enemy—they’re battling player frustration. A growing trend sees desperate soldiers using the engineer’s repair tool to scrawl messages on walls, urging Support-class teammates to perform revives.

Released on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Battlefield 6 has already drawn a massive audience, with over 740,000 Steam players last week alone. But with the influx of players comes a heated community debate: are medics pulling their weight?

The Support class plays a unique role in multiplayer matches. While Assault, Engineer, and Recon offer crucial combat abilities, Support soldiers have the fastest and most versatile revive capabilities. Unlike other classes—limited to rescuing squadmates slowly—Support players can instantly revive any downed soldier using defibrillators, no matter the squad.

Unfortunately, reality doesn’t always live up to the ideal. In the chaos of collapsing buildings, incoming fire, and sprawling maps, fallen players often find themselves watching the nearest medic run past at arm’s length. The game even highlights the distance to nearby medics, making it painfully obvious when someone ignores you at five meters away.

That frustration has spilled into creative protest. Some players, abandoning subtlety, use the repair tool—normally meant to fix vehicles—to “graffiti” reminders for medics. A viral Reddit post from dobrewski77 features a blunt wall scrawl: “Remember to revive your teammates.” Others take a lighter approach, with user beningham94 painting alternative messages to boost team morale instead of calling out Support players directly.

Naturally, Support mains have their own defense. As one X/Twitter user put it: “Stop hitting redeploy and you’ll be revived.” Another Reddit commenter added: “I wish people would ask ‘Where is the Medic?’ instead of insta-skipping the revive.” The underlying tension stems from battlefield realities—reaching a teammate can often mean risking your own life.

The medics-vs-downed debate is just one of many emerging talking points. In the past week, Battlefield 6 has made headlines for quirky community creations, including a Portal mode remake of Call of Duty’s iconic Shipment map, and even an in-game pop-up that cheerfully tells players it’s fine to uninstall the campaign.

While the war over revives rages, the memes born from these interactions provide levity in the firefight. Whether painted on walls or posted online, they highlight one truth about Battlefield: sometimes the battle is as much with your teammates as with the opposition.
