Apple is accelerating deeper into the world of motorsport. Following the success of its original film F1, the company has now secured exclusive U.S. broadcast rights for Formula 1 — the world’s most prestigious and widely followed racing competition. Starting next season, Apple TV will be the official home for all Formula 1 coverage in the United States under a five-year deal.

“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and give Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front-row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services.

Cue emphasized that 2026 will mark “a transformative new era” for Formula 1, highlighting the series’ incoming teams, updated regulations, and next-generation cars. He added that Apple will deliver “premium, innovative, fan-first coverage” that mirrors the company’s commitment to quality and technology.

A New Era for Formula 1 Fans

Beginning with the 2026 season, Apple TV viewers will have access to every practice, qualifying, Sprint, and Grand Prix session directly through the updated Apple TV app. Beyond live broadcasts, the company plans to integrate Formula 1 content across its ecosystem — including Apple News, Apple Music, Apple Maps, and Apple Fitness+ — creating what it calls a “connected fan experience.”

The Apple Sports app will also play a significant role, offering live race updates, real-time leaderboards, driver and constructor standings, Live Activities, and customizable widgets. “This is an incredibly exciting partnership for Apple and Formula 1,” said Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1 president and CEO. “Together, we’ll continue to build the sport’s presence and potential in the U.S. with creative and innovative distribution.”

Subscription Details Coming Soon

Apple has yet to reveal pricing details for its Formula 1 coverage. However, fans will still be able to access F1 TV Premium through an Apple TV subscription. More information about pricing and package options is expected to be announced in the coming months.

With this high-profile partnership, Apple clearly aims to strengthen its streaming platform by tapping into the global popularity of motorsport — further revving up its push to attract millions more subscribers to Apple TV+.
