WhatsApp Is Finally Coming To Apple Watch – Here’s The First Look

Meta is finally bringing WhatsApp to the Apple Watch, marking a long-awaited step for smartwatch users deeply integrated into the WhatsApp ecosystem. Following the rollout of the WhatsApp app for Wear OS devices a few years ago, Apple Watch users can now look forward to enjoying a dedicated version developed by Mark Zuckerberg’s company.

The new feature appears in TestFlight version 25.32.10 of WhatsApp for iOS, which includes an experimental build designed for Apple Watch. In its current state, the app allows users to send quick replies, react to messages, dictate responses, and scroll through recent conversations. Notifications remain a core part of the experience, but for the first time, users can interact more directly within the watch app itself.

Despite these promising additions, the app is still in an early phase. Users must keep their iPhone nearby to view messages, limiting independent functionality. It remains unclear whether upcoming builds will allow WhatsApp to operate autonomously on the Apple Watch. Still, for those who have been waiting years for this integration, it’s an encouraging start.

Meta’s improving relationship with Apple’s ecosystem

Over the past few years, Meta has made noticeable strides in expanding its software offerings across Apple’s platforms. After introducing multi-device compatibility and extending WhatsApp and Instagram to the iPad, the company’s focus has shifted toward wearables. The Apple Watch version of WhatsApp represents another key step in closing the feature gap between iOS and Android.

While this early version doesn’t yet support starting new chats or searching for contacts, Meta is expected to roll out additional capabilities over time. Features like viewing Status updates or full independence from the iPhone may eventually follow in later updates.
