Spotify is making it easier than ever for music lovers to stay connected—not just to their favorite artists, but to their favorite concert venues as well.
The streaming giant has unveiled a new feature that lets users follow specific venues, just as they already can with bands or performers. Available for both free and premium subscribers, this update extends Spotify’s role from music streaming to live event discovery and planning.
Once a venue is followed, users gain access to a curated list of upcoming shows over the next few weeks. This functionality is built into Spotify’s new Live Events feed, which refreshes daily to ensure users never miss fresh listings in their area. It’s a more dynamic alternative to Spotify’s existing “Concerts Near You” feature, which filters upcoming events based on favorites artists and updates weekly.
To make discovery even more intuitive, Spotify now highlights Suggested Venues—a particularly helpful tool for fans in larger cities where hidden-gem venues often go unnoticed. The company says its global concert database already includes over 20,000 venues. When users find an event they want to attend, they can simply tap through to the official ticketing partner to complete their purchase, streamlining the once-clunky ticket-buying process.
Spotify keeps expanding its features
In recent weeks, Spotify has rolled out a series of notable feature updates aimed at improving both convenience and quality. For free-tier listeners, the most significant change came last month when Spotify added the ability to play specific songs on demand—a long-requested upgrade that finally brings greater control to ad-supported users.
Meanwhile, for audiophiles, Spotify has introduced lossless audio playback at up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC in select markets. To enable it, users can head to Settings > Media quality, then select “Lossless” near the bottom of the menu. However, Spotify cautions that lossless streaming requires a stronger connection and consumes significantly more data than standard playback.
Many listeners rely on the Automatic streaming quality setting, which adjusts audio quality based on real-time data strength. But those who want true lossless sound will need to select it manually. Spotify also continues to let users fine-tune their streaming preferences based on whether they’re on Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
With its latest updates, Spotify is cementing its position not just as a streaming platform, but as a full-fledged hub for the live music experience—from discovery to high-quality playback and ticket purchase in one seamless ecosystem.
