GTA 6 Villain is Massively Dividing The Fanbase

Back in May, Rockstar gave fans their second official look at Grand Theft Auto VI with a brand-new trailer — one that not only showcased the game’s stunning world but also offered a deeper glimpse into the characters we’ll meet in this highly anticipated title.

Alongside the internet-breaking cinematic reveal, Rockstar quietly launched a dedicated Grand Theft Auto VI website, packed with stylish visuals, flashy animations, and a scroll bar that practically has a mind of its own. The site recaps much of what we already know — the neon-soaked setting of Vice City, the dual protagonists, and a host of intriguing side characters.

But one character in particular has fans buzzing. Many believe he could be GTA VI’s primary antagonist.

We already know that Jason and Lucia will take players on a modern-day, Bonnie-and-Clyde-style crime spree across Vice City and the surrounding areas. Yet, as any Grand Theft Auto fan knows, the secondary cast often plays a crucial role in shaping the story’s emotional and moral core.

Among the supporting characters introduced so far are Jason’s friend Cal Hampton, real estate mogul Boobie Ike, and aspiring musician Dre’Quan Priest. But it’s another name — Brian Heder — that has players especially intrigued.

Brian is described as a long-time operator in Leonida Keys’ drug trade, running his business out of a boatyard while letting his associates handle the dirty work. One of those associates? None other than Jason himself. Interestingly, Brian is also on his third marriage — leaving fans to wonder what happened to the first two Mrs. Heders.

While we’ve only caught brief glimpses of Brian in the trailer, that hasn’t stopped the GTA community from speculating wildly about his role. Over on Reddit, user BubbyPower drew a fascinating comparison, writing:

“Brian will be the next Dutch.”

They’re referring to Dutch van der Linde from Red Dead Redemption 2, another Rockstar icon known for playing the father-figure archetype — before ultimately betraying the protagonist. BubbyPower continues:

“He will be the father figure to Jason who betrays him in the end.”

Naturally, this is all fan theory, but the discussion has sparked debates across the community. One top comment counters, “I think Raul Bautista or Boobie Ike are far more likely to betray us.”

Others suggest a deeper emotional arc. As another Redditor puts it:

“I think Brian will be the voice of reason throughout the game, trying to stop Jason from getting in too deep. But Jason sees that as Brian holding him back. They fall out — then reconcile near the end when Jason realises Brian was only trying to protect him.”

Whether Brian Heder ultimately turns out to be a villain, mentor, or something in between remains to be seen. Fortunately, fans won’t have to speculate for much longer — just a few short months stand between us and the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
