Fans are once again worried that Grand Theft Auto VI might have been delayed—again—after Rockstar Games made a subtle but seemingly significant change to the game’s official website.
At this point, it feels like a weekly tradition: new speculation about another GTA VI delay. The community’s fixation on the game’s launch date has only grown, and every minor update fuels a fresh round of rumors and anxiety. But does this latest change really mean trouble?
According to Screen Rant’s Nicholas Becher, Rockstar quietly tweaked the GTA VI website over the weekend. The entry page now looks quite different, and fans were quick to notice that the previously announced May 26, 2026 release date no longer appears at the top of the page.
That might sound alarming—until you scroll further down, where the release date is still clearly visible.
Despite this, the internet had a brief meltdown. Over the weekend, thousands of posts on X (formerly Twitter) claimed the game had been delayed a second time. My feed was flooded with “GTA VI Delayed!” notifications on Sunday morning, and I nearly choked on my coffee reading them.
Ironically, this website update may signal the exact opposite of a delay. It looks more like Rockstar and parent publisher Take-Two Interactive are preparing for something new—perhaps a fresh trailer or major promotional push. With Take-Two’s next earnings call scheduled for November 6, it wouldn’t be surprising if Rockstar updated the site in anticipation of uploading new media ahead of that event. The company has a history of timing big announcements around investor calls to keep shareholders engaged.
Of course, this is just speculation. But if Rockstar is indeed planning another big reveal, we could be mere days away from seeing new GTA VI footage. So, while fans might want to keep their eyes peeled for news soon, a release date delay doesn’t seem likely—at least not yet.
