Battlefield 6 is off to an impressive start. Early sales estimates indicate that the game has already surpassed 6.5 million units sold across all platforms, and the community reception upon launch has been largely positive.
However, not everything has been smooth sailing. Disagreements between fans and the development team have surfaced following a recent backend update that adjusted the starting ticket count across all Conquest maps. According to the developers:
“We’ve reduced the starting ticket count across all Conquest maps so matches finish at a more natural pace. Previously, many rounds were hitting the time limit instead of ending when one team ran out of tickets. We’ll keep monitoring feedback and data to ensure the flow of each match feels right.”
Here are the revised ticket counts per map:
- Siege of Cairo: 1000 → 900
- Empire State: 1000 → 900
- Iberian Offensive: 1000 → 900
- Liberation Peak: 1000 → 800
- Manhattan Bridge: 1000 → 800
- Operation Firestorm: 1000 → 700
- New Sobek City: 1000 → 900
- Mirak Valley: 1000 → 700
While the intent was to create smoother, shorter matches, many players on Reddit voiced skepticism. The majority claim they rarely experienced rounds ending due to time limits before, and some critics argue that Battlefield Studios is attempting to cater to the Call of Duty audience with these faster-paced adjustments. This sentiment aligns with mixed feedback about Season 1, which introduces new 4v4 and 8v8 modes. Longtime Battlefield fans say they would prefer larger maps and expanded Conquest experiences instead, feeling that the current lineup leans too heavily on smaller arenas.
On a brighter note, the developers did respond to player feedback in a smaller but welcome tweak. On the Manhattan Bridge map, the Out of Bounds timer for vehicles in Conquest and Escalation modes has been increased from five to ten seconds — giving players more breathing room during high-intensity vehicle combat.
Additionally, Battlefield Studios has deployed a minor 27 MB patch (version 1.0.1.6) on Steam. This update focuses purely on backend stability in preparation for the upcoming Season 1 launch, set for Tuesday, October 28.
