Samsung’s long-rumored trifold smartphone may finally be taking shape — and new leaks are giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from the company’s first three-panel foldable.
According to a fresh report from Chosun, the device — tentatively referred to as the Galaxy Z Trifold — could ship with a sizable 5,600 mAh battery. That’s larger than the one found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a model that has already earned Samsung praise for its strong endurance and design improvements. While the name “Galaxy G Fold 7” has circulated online, Samsung has yet to officially confirm what the trifold will be called.
Display rumors also seem to be solidifying. The trifold is reportedly set to feature a 6.5-inch outer display and an expansive 10-inch screen when fully unfolded. However, that extra screen real estate may come at a steep price — around $3,000, according to early predictions. This would make it Samsung’s most expensive foldable yet, and its availability outside Asia, including in the US, remains uncertain.
The most exciting detail from this latest leak is a possible release window. Chosun claims Samsung could unveil or launch the trifold on December 5, 2025. That timing aligns perfectly with earlier rumors suggesting a late-2025 debut — and would position the device as a big-ticket option for holiday shoppers seeking cutting-edge tech.
Still, as with all leaks, these details should be viewed with caution until Samsung confirms them officially. Fortunately, December isn’t far off, and we won’t have to wait long to see whether the company’s first trifold truly lives up to the hype. And for those unwilling to wait, Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate already offers a glimpse of what the trifold future might look like.
