The Witcher 3’s Geralt Returns in New Game Trailer, Fans Rejoice

Don’t get too excited, because it’s not a trailer for The Witcher 4

The White Wolf rides again—but not in The Witcher 4. Geralt of Rivia has just appeared as a guest star in a brand-new video game trailer. Before your hopes start climbing higher than a griffin on Red Bull, though, this teaser isn’t from CD Projekt RED.

It’s also not tied to Netflix’s The Witcher adaptation (small mercies there), but it’s still a curious crossover that proves Geralt just can’t sit still for too long.

It’s been a good while since we last saw him headline anything game-related. His last major appearance in a CD Projekt RED project was Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales—unless, of course, you count his face showing up on GWENT cards as a cameo. Beyond his home franchise, Geralt’s most famous guest spot remains his 2018 stint in Soulcalibur VI, where his monster-slaying swagger even earned him a spot on the box art.

Now, the silver-haired swordsman has re-emerged once again—this time in a crossover with Sword of Convallaria. Yes, that tactical fantasy RPG you might’ve completely forgotten about (you’re not alone). According to the game’s official Twitter account, Geralt will soon be joining the world of Convallaria, complete with a stunning animated teaser showing him tracking Yennefer through a magical portal.

Where exactly that portal leads is anyone’s guess. Maybe he’s stepping into another dimension… or maybe he’s on his way to Netflix headquarters to deliver some feedback in person.

The trailer also hints that Yennefer herself might appear as a playable character, which would make perfect sense. Still, it’s a bit surprising they didn’t go for Ciri—the second most beloved character in the entire franchise.

As for dates? Nothing’s locked in yet. The trailer does mention a “Special Preview Program” debuting on November 2 at 7:00 AM (UTC-4), so expect more details then.

It’s a surprising collaboration, but if history has shown anything, it’s that CD Projekt RED isn’t afraid to let Geralt explore new worlds—even the weirder ones. So who knows? Maybe next time we’ll see Roach competing as a horse girl in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Now that’s a crossover worth watching.
