“Everyone is going to be able to vibe code video games by the end of 2025,” tweeted Google’s Logan Kilpatrick on Sunday, October 26 — with just two months left in the year. “This is going to successfully usher in the next 100 million ‘developers’ with ease. So many people get excited by creating games, only to be hit with C/C#/C++ and realize it’s not fun,” he added.

The tweet quickly went viral, sparking speculation that Kilpatrick was teasing the release of Google’s long-awaited Gemini 3.0. Some found the 2025 timeline odd given the year’s end, but many believe that’s precisely when Gemini 3.0 will make its impact felt.

What “Vibe Coding” Actually Means

Vibe coding — the emerging trend of using AI to create software through simple prompts — already exists across several AI platforms. It empowers anyone, regardless of technical skill, to describe an idea and have an AI turn it into working code.

Gemini 3.0, however, is rumored to go a step further. Leaks and early demos suggest it could introduce the ability to generate complete user interfaces — the missing piece for non-coders who want to design video games or applications. In one alleged demo, users reportedly built functional clones of iOS, macOS, and Windows using simple instructions.

While Google hasn’t confirmed these capabilities, a separate announcement from the same weekend offers a strong clue. On Sunday, Google revealed a redesigned version of Google AI Studio, the company’s web-based development platform — and Kilpatrick happens to lead the project.

Google AI Studio Enters the “Vibe Coding” Era

According to a post on Google’s official blog, the new AI Studio now lets anyone build apps without needing to understand APIs, SDKs, or AI integration. Instead, users can simply describe what they want, and Google’s AI handles the rest.

“AI-powered apps let you build incredible things: generate videos from a script with Veo, create dynamic image editing tools using Nano Banana, or build a writing app that checks your sources through Google Search,” the company explained. Each of these tools can now be combined through natural language prompts in the revamped vibe coding interface.

Although the announcement didn’t reference Gemini 3.0 directly, Google said AI Studio automatically selects the most suitable models for each task — a hint that the experience could soon be powered by Gemini’s next upgrade.

Editing Interfaces with Prompts

The update also adds an Annotation Mode, allowing users to change app designs through plain text commands. As Google illustrated, you can type instructions like “make this button blue,” “change the style of these cards,” or “animate this image from the left,” and the system instantly updates the interface.

This feature aligns closely with reports suggesting Gemini 3.0’s advanced visual generation capabilities — possibly including full UI construction from prompts.

Inspiration for the Next Wave of Creators

To help users explore what’s possible, Google expanded the App Gallery, where developers can browse, remix, and build upon vibe-coded projects. The company has also launched an official YouTube playlist offering tutorials and examples of what’s achievable with AI Studio.

By merging conversational creativity with automated coding, Google is blurring the lines between developer and designer. If the Gemini 3.0 rumors prove true, the end of 2025 could indeed mark a turning point — not just for professional coders, but for anyone with an idea and a prompt.
